Photograph iconic downtown Dallas locations before hopping across the river to capture sunset and the 2nd Super Moon of the year rising above the world famous Dallas skyline.
This afternoon and evening workshop explores Dallas through three very different photographic experiences: street photography, urban architecture, and skyline/moonrise photography. We’ll begin in the downtown area, working through visually rich locations such as Deep Ellum, the Arts District, Klyde Warren Park, and nearby downtown streets, focusing on gesture, light, color, murals, reflections, layering, and storytelling. As the day transitions toward sunset, we’ll move west of the Trinity River to photograph the Dallas skyline with long lenses as the full moon rises behind the buildings, then continue into blue hour and night for dramatic skyline images featuring downtown Dallas, Reunion Tower, and the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.
For locals, none needed. If you're traveling from out of town, consider booking early as sporting events can cause price spikes in the downtown area. The Courtyard by Marriott on S Houston St is a good location based on our planned itinerary.
